Overnight bushwalk to Splendour Rock in the Wild Dog Mountains.  This is a very challenging walk including off-track walking and steep ascents and descents.  Due to the current state of the mountains, we can expect some thick scrub. 

Day 1 – Galong Farm – Hobbles Spur – Breakfast Creek – Blackhorse Ridge - Mobbs Swamp – Mount Dingo – Splendour Rock (camp)

Day 2 - Splendour Rock – Mobbs Swamp - Medlow Gap - Medlow Gap Firetrail – Dunphys Camp – Galong Farm

You will need to be equipped for Winter in the Blue Mountains, expect overnight temperatures down to below zero.

Facilities: none - you need to be self-sufficient.  We will have a packing night on the Thursday before the hike. 

To qualify for "Trained Participant Bushwalk Difficult Tracked Environments" you will need to complete the following:

1. Complete the “Tracked and Difficult Tracked Environments” workbook and forward to Dirk before the hike.  Please type your responses. 
2. Participate in the packing night on Thursday 24^th July.  You will need to bring your backpack fully packed. 
3. Participate in the walk and the navigation exercises. 
4. Participate in the post-walk navigation review and workshop on Thursday 31^st July.
